This morning as I went outside to feed our cat Bennett. It was still dark, but wonderfully inviting. I looked up above the trees and saw the slightest glimmer of the moon still up. Wow, Lord! Great job on that one! It was to say the least extravagant.
As I pulled out of the driveway an hour or so later, I got to see the sun coming up. Again, wow Lord!
It just so happened that the CD that was playing was an old Casting Crowns CD. About that time, the song Your Love is Extravagant began to play. Oh man, here come the tears and I just put on mascara! The last couple of weeks the Lord has been challenging me to believe in how big He really is. I tend to be a “survival” believer. I believe that God will give me what I need to survive. I have a hard time believing that He wants more for my life than that. But as I listened to that sweet sweet song, and saw that beautiful sun, His extravagance washed over my heart. He said, “meggs, I want HUGE things for your life.” Just what if God wants to give us more than we can imagine? One of my favorite verses reads, “For I will do a work in your day which you would not believe even if it were told to you…Habakkuk 1:5”. Today, join me in believing with big faith that God really does want great things for our lives. Today believe in His unending extravagant love for you…I am.
