the decision

This morning, I had a client call and ask, “Has a decision been made on my food stamp case?” Something about the way he phrased the question really struck my heart. There was this fearful hope in his voice - -

After I got off the phone with him, I thought about all the decisions I am making or have made in my life. This weekend we will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. He made a decision all those years ago to die to save my soul and yours. His decision was the ultimate. He could have called down the angels to save Him. He could have struck down those that beat Him. He could have chosen to do anything to take Himself out of the equation. But He didn’t. He decided to die for us. Sometimes I forget what He had to go through for me to be able to live in Glory with Him forever. He endured more than any of us can imagine. Can you see Him? And after He died on Calvary he was buried. But ALL praise and glory to our Father because three days later, He looked down at His son and said, Arise my Love. And you know what….HE DID! He died and rose again and He did it all for the salvation of our souls. He did it all for you sweet one. You can rest in the fact that Easter is not about bunnies or eggs it is about the Resurrected Savior to whom one day every knee will bow.

Today, I will remember. Today, I will not have a fearful hope; I will have a secure hope knowing my decision has been made. I have decided to follow Jesus…no turning back. I ask this question to you now….have you made the decision?
