parking space

On Sunday afternoon, my sister took me to Target. We were driving through the parking lot looking for that "oh so perfect" parking space. She spotted a great one, we zoned in and she headed for it. The great spot got nabbed by a speedy Toyota and we were deflated! Then, much to our surprise we saw THE spot. First row, closest to the entry, very first spot. WOW! We had gotten so caught up in getting the spot we thought was the best, that we almost missed God's very BEST parking spot. Granted, it was only a parking space, but man...how often we do this in life. We find what we think is the very best and we go for it. But so many times God is saying, "wait wait wait! I have something even better for you..." Some times, we are sad because we don't get what we want and then we learn that God's something was infinitely better than ours. But sometimes, we settle for what we have our eyes on. We do whatever we can to get to what we want and sadly, we never see what God had in store for us had we only waited on Him. Today, I pray that whatever it is that you are going after, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is God's very best for you. If it is not His Best, it is not worth it. Seek HIS face, HIS Kingdom first, above all else.
