Last night I was watching a movie. In this movie, a young girl is at the airport carrying about 8 suitcases/baggage. Really at least an 8 piece set! She was bogged down completely with all her bags. When she got to her check in counter, there was no one in line. She could have walked straight up to the counter, but instead she opted to walk though the twisty round about line barriers. You know the ones I mean? The ones that make you dizzy!! It was so interesting to watch her drag all of her baggage through the maze when she could have bypassed all of it. Even more, she refused the help of a young man who offered her assistance.
I really focused on this particular point in the movie and the Lord said, “Meggs, that’s you.” Ummm, I would have gotten huffy but really who can argue with the Creator of the Universe? Now, I have no idea why we pick up the baggage we carry and I am even more confused as to why we continue to carry it. Why do we struggle and struggle to carry a million things that were never meant to be ours? Why do we, like the girl in the movie, take the very longest way possible to take our baggage to Jesus when there is absolutely no one in line in front of us? Jesus is waiting right where we are to take our baggage from us. All we have to do is ask Him to take it. Today, whatever it is that you are carrying around….stop. Stop winding through a non-existent line and give all that stuff to Jesus, He is willing to take it all from you….for you…
