Crossing Guard

On the way to work, I was stopped at a stoplight. I looked to my left and noticed a crossing guard walking some children across the street. She had a huge stop sign held up for everyone to see. She walked right next to the two children all the way across the street, up the curb, to the safety of the sidewalk.

I had a rough night last night and this morning I was truly desperate for the Lord to speak to me….and He did - - through the crossing guard. By watching her do her job, He showed me that He does that very thing for me all the time. When I am walking in uncharted territory, the Lord walks beside me. He walks me through the situation completely. He will not leave my side until I am safe, and even then He asks to stay with me. And when necessary, when I ask Him, He holds up a huge sign that says, STOP. When I ask Him, He will fight Satan and his creepy brood of demons off for me. He says in Exodus, “I will fight for you; all I ask is that you stand still.” So, today whatever you are fighting, wherever you are walking know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have the ultimate crossing guard with you. And He will walk with you to the very end….
