in sync stilletos

Yesterday I had to run by the store after work. I hopped out of the car and began walking in. I noticed another lady walking in with me. We were both wearing heels and I could hear the click click click as we hurried in. It appeared that we were both on a mission….to get a few things as quickly as possible. We ended up checking out at the same time and walking back to our vehicles together. As we walked this time, our stilettos were in sync. By the time we got to our cars, which were parked next to each other, we both laughed and she wished me a happy dinner! I love when things like that happen!

As I drove home I could still hear the clickety click of our shoes. It made me wonder if my walk with Jesus was like our walk into the store, or out. Do Jesus and I have separate clicks, or am I totally in sync with His steps. More often than not, the clicks of my heels are way off. I sometimes try so hard to make my own way that I don’t even hear His footsteps anymore. Then there are days that I know I am close because the sound of His steps are so very close to mine. And then there are the days, much like today that I can only hear one set of “clicks”. It is on days like today that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am exactly where I am supposed to be, for I can no longer tell the difference between our steps. The awesome part is that no matter how off track we get, all we have to do is stop our clicking and ask Him to come carry us back to where we need to be. He will not hesitate. Where are your steps clicking today?
