how big is your Son

This morning I was pulling out of Sonic and listening to my new favorite CD, Addison Road, and right as the chorus of the song Hope Now came on I looked back to the east and saw the biggest sun ever! It was hot pink and orange and yellow! It was absolutely breathtaking and took up the whole sky - I just stopped in the driveway and stared at it for a long time. Now, some would say it was a coincidence that Hope Now was on just as I saw the sun, but not me. The song says, “everything rides on hope now, everything rides on faith somehow…..when the world has broken me down, Your Love sets me free.” I know the Lord was saying, Everything rides on hope in my Son. See that Sun, it pales in comparison to my Son. You are awe struck by its beauty and size……how big is my Son to you Meagan?

Don’t you love when the Lord smacks you right in the face at 7:15 in the morning?! The truth is, it wasn’t that long ago that I figured out what hope really means. I wish for a lot of things and usually don’t get them. But hope has nothing to do with wishing for a believer. Hope is above all wishes. Hebrews 11:1 “now faith is being sure of what we hope for….” Faith and hope are linked together. To have hope in the Father is to know that He will take care of us. More often than not, I put my hope in tangible things or in people instead of Jesus. Of course the Lord knows this. So this morning, because He knew I wasn’t hearing His voice, He made this huge sun for me to SEE as if to say, if you are not hearing Me, look at Me. Look at the sun I made, and then look to My Son. Look to Me for hope, look to Me and only Me. I am your only Hope. Everything in your life has to ride on hope in Me, the One who gives eternal life. Let My Son be HUGE for you today….
